Transport in Warsaw
Warsaw is a large city, that is why the need to expand the communication network as efficiently as possible was significant. There is variety of way of transport – buses, trams, subway and even city trains are at our disposal. Taxi is also very popular, as there are many companies that provide this type of service. It is worth mentioning that Uber and Bolt both function well and are very successfull among young people. Warsaw is a relatively cheap city when it comes to the prices of tickets for collective transport in comparison with the cities of Western Europe. A three-month ticket costs about PLN 280 and it is the most economical option for a transport fee. Having a personal ticket, you can use all means of transport and change between trams, buses, subway as many times as you like. Warsaw is considered one of the best communicated capitals in Europe. Connections have been designed so that access from one end of the city to the other is possible in the shortest possible time and with the least number of transfers. Metro is the preferred means of transport for Warsaw inhabitants. The expansion of the second metro lin eis eagerly awaitining, which currently (August 2019) is very advanced. The Warsaw metro project was designed so that the underground railway connects the northern end of the city with the southern (first line), and the eastern one with the west (second line). A nearby metro station is a very important guideline when it comes to the location of an apartment in Warsaw. This significantly affects the prestige and the price of the apartment itself. This is definitely a matter that should be taken into account when choosing a future flat. The extension of the second metro line includes the districts of Bródno, Targówek, Bemowo and Wola – if you plan a longer stay in Warsaw, it is worth to remember that the above districts, today only communicated by ground transport, will gain a fast connection to the center of Warsaw within a dozen or so months.
The capital of Poland has a well-developed network of express roads within the city, which is a great facilitation for those who have their own car. Thanks to the huge number of high-speed multi-lane roads, traffic jams do not give drivers a hint – compared to other European cities driving across Warsaw is a pleasure. In terms of parking spaces, there are also no major problems – each new and luxurious building is equipped with (often multi-level) underground parking, which guarantees a safe parking space. If you want to reach the city center (where the majority of foreign corporations are based) in less than 20 minutes by own car or communication, we recommend apartments in such districts as Powiśle, Praga Południe, Śródmieście or Mokotów.
