BUILDING
The tenement house at ul. Tadeusza Rejtana 3 in Warsaw’s Old Mokotów is a building with a rich history, dating back to the interwar period. Built around 1914 in the neoclassical style, with a characteristic sandstone elevation and granite plinth. Beautiful staircases with richly preserved historical elements: floors, balustrades, door joinery.

LAYOUT

In addition to classical modernism, the philosophy of Frank Lloyd Wright, specifically his “Cabin Wood” projects, found expression here – a thought focused on natural materials, which – in accordance with the idea of  organic architecture – are to create a harmonious whole with space and everyday life. The dominant solid wood here, present both in the furniture and in the oak floors, was complemented by wooden paneling and the sculpture of mini libraries, which somehow grow out of the walls. The round hole pierced in the wall, between the kitchen and the bathroom, is not just an architectural device – it is a symbol of the setting sun. Filtered through orange glass, it warms the space, introducing an aura of contemplation. This gesture – subtle but eloquent – combines functionality with the poetics of nature.

Rejtana 3 is – the heart of one of the most stylish districts of Warsaw. The intimate, green area is adjacent to the vibrant points of the city. Just a few minutes’ walk from Pole Mokotowskie Metro Station and tram lines on Puławska Street and soon Rakowiecka Street.
