Today is time for part 3 of interesting places in the capital of Poland!

~ Warsaw Rising Museum ~

This museum is one of the most visited places in Warsaw. It was opened on the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of fighting in the city. The museum is a tribute to those, who fought and died for a free Poland. On the exhibition we can see the struggle of everyday life before and during the Warsaw Uprising. Not only images but also sounds, present the days prior to the outbreak of the Uprising, its subsequent phases, as well as the insurgents’ exit and their subsequent fate. Area: over 3000 meters – 1000 exhibits and 1500 photographs and films.

Visitors can also see the 3D movie – simulation of the Liberator plane flights over destroyed capital of Poland in 1945.

~ National Museum ~

The National Museum in Warsaw is one of the oldest, richest in exhibits (over 800000) and most innovative museum in Poland. We can see there all epochs – from antiquity to contemporary times (including photographs , paintings, sculptures, drawings, illustrations, numismatic items, sculptures and objects of applied arts). The Faras Gallery is the most unique. It is the largest European collection of artefacts of the Nubian culture and art from the early-Christian period. The Medieval Art Gallery contains panel paintings, goldsmithery from all regions historically related to Poland and unique sculptures. In the museum we can also see the largest Polish painting “Battle of Grunwald” by Jan Matejko – image size is 4,26 x 9,87 meters. The state-of-the-art LED lighting makes that this museum is unique because this technique is used in only few museums across the world!
